Yesterday we read a report that Apple is planning to unveil an iMac with a brand new design at this year's WWDC 2020 - now there are first indications of this - directly from Apple.
The iMac 2020 is said to have a brand new design that features accents from the iPad Pro 2018 and 2020 models. The narrow frame is reminiscent of the Apple Pro Display XDR – according to the report. Since Cupertino last updated the iMac in 2012, a new design is long overdue. If the case remains the same size, the device should have a larger screen diagonal. In addition, the new iMac 2020 is expected to have the T2 security chip and a pure SSD configuration. In the area of processors, Intel's newly introduced "Comet Lake" chips are expected to be used. If previous rumors are to be believed, the iMac 2020 could use graphics processors from AMD's Navi family.
Shortage points to iMac 2020
Now some fans have an interesting observation in the Apple Online shop made. Anyone who decides to buy an iMac 27" model must plan on waiting at least three weeks for all three versions. This means that according to Apple, delivery should take place between June 26th and July 3rd. This is strange because until recently the devices were delivered the next day. This must therefore be an intentional "shortage", which is usually not atypical when new models are on the way.
