As expected, Apple took a closer look at its new streaming service AppleTV+ during the “By innovation only” keynote.

AppleTV+ is intended to be a new streaming service that will compete with platforms such as Netflix. TV and film content produced by Apple will be available. This content is produced by Hollywood greats such as Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Octavia Spencer and Reese Witherspoon. Apple's goal is to become the first port of call in this area.

First content at a glance

These include “The Morning Show,” “Amazing Stories,” “See,” “Truth Be Told,” and a documentary series about extravagant homes called “Home,” and more. Apple TV+ can be streamed the traditional way via Apple TV. Of course, the service is also available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as well as selected smart TVs via Apple's new TV app.

start date & price

The service will launch on November 1st in over 100 countries. The subscription costs $4.99 per month. A trial month and family sharing are also included. (Image: Apple)

Apple devices here aren't test units for a fortnight but everyday tools: from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac through to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it goes live.
