Apple Watch: Many bracelets no longer available

Apple Watch Series 7

It is now considered certain that Apple will present the Apple Watch Series 7 on Tuesday, September 14th. Now some Apple Watch straps are no longer available - neither in the Apple Store nor in Apple's online shop.

While seasonal straps are already selling out, stocks of classic straps like the Milanese Loop also seem to be running low. The Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to focus on an all-new, flat-edged case design. This has led to a lot of speculation about whether or not existing Apple Watch straps will fit the Series 7. The new models are rumored to be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes. Unfortunately, there are conflicting reports about whether or not old straps will fit the new watches.

Apple Watch Series 7: Will old straps be compatible?

Apple has retained compatibility with 38mm and 42mm bands for the 40mm and 44mm models. Due to the flat design, it is questionable whether the bands will actually fit and if so, how good the whole thing will look. Now some bands in Apple's online shop listed as "unavailable". This phenomenon usually occurs when new collections are about to be introduced. This time, however, is different. Straps such as the Milanese Loop, which are part of the regular collection, were also listed as "unavailable". At the moment, the 40mm Milanese Loop in silver is the only version of this range that is available.

Lack of availability raises questions

In addition, some of the leather bracelets with loops and end pieces are no longer available online. Only local pickup is currently possible. However, this phenomenon can also be observed in the Solo Loop and Sport Loop range.

The reason for the lack of availability is currently unknown. It is possible that Apple wants to stop shipping straps labeled 40mm and 44mm altogether. Alternatively, it could be that the Milanese Loop, for example, needs a new design to be adapted to the case with flat edges. So we can only speculate about this at the moment. However, we should have certainty by September 14th at the latest.
