Apple TV+ will be staying on the ball in 2025, bringing back several series – some with new seasons, others with a planned series finale. Particular focus will be on the comedy hits "Trying," "The Studio," and the bilingual series "Acapulco." In this overview, you'll learn which series have been renewed, what to expect in terms of content, and why Apple TV+ is further expanding its position in the streaming market.
Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV+ has focused on exclusive original content – without licensed series from other studios, but with high standards of quality and cast. The service is now available worldwide and can be used on over a billion screens – from iPhones to smart TVs. Apple Originals have since received more than 2,600 nominations and over 560 awards, including an Oscar for "CODA" and multiple Emmys for "Ted Lasso." With the productions announced for 2025, Apple TV+ once again demonstrates its focus on well-told stories and high-quality productions.
“Trying” – Season 5 brings back emotional conflicts
The British comedy series "Trying," starring Esther Smith and Rafe Spall, is entering its fifth season. This time, Nikki and Jason face a new challenge: the biological mother of their adopted children, Princess and Tyler, suddenly appears. Kat, played by Charlotte Riley, throws their family life into disarray with her appearance.

The series was developed, written, and produced by Andy Wolton. Additional producers include Josh Cole, Sam Pinnell, and Chris Sussman. The series is produced by BBC Studios. "Trying" has received consistently positive reviews from fans and critics, with a 95 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics particularly praised the cast, detailed direction, and emotional undertones of the series. In addition to Smith and Spall, the cast also stars Darren Boyd, Siân Brooke, Scarlett Rayner, and Cooper Turner. The first four seasons are already available on Apple TV+.
“The Studio” – Satire about the film industry gets a second season
"The Studio," starring Seth Rogen, will also continue after the success of its first season. Rogen plays Matt Remick, the new head of the struggling Continental Studios. The series takes a satirical look at everyday life behind the scenes at a film studio—including failed projects, marketing meetings, casting calls, and award ceremonies. Remick struggles with a team of chaotic executives, difficult artists, and financial pressure. "The Studio" was co-developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who serve as writers, directors, and executive producers. Additional producers include Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, Frida Perez, James Weaver, Alex McAtee, and Josh Fagen. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television.

The cast includes Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and guest stars Bryan Cranston. In the current eighth episode, Matt tries to get Zoë Kravitz to mention him in her acceptance speech. The series also features numerous cameo appearances by well-known filmmakers. In addition to "The Studio," Rogen also stars in the Apple TV+ series "Platonic," where he also serves as an executive producer.
“Acapulco” – Season 4 ends the story
The bilingual comedy series “Acapulco” with Eugenio Derbez is getting a fourth and final season. The final episodes will premiere on July 23rd on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes being released. In the fourth season, the present-day Máximo returns to Las Colinas to get the hotel ready for a grand reopening. Flashbacks show how the young Máximo in 1986 fights to outshine the competition and reclaim the number one spot among Acapulco hotels. The series is based on the film “How to Be A Latin Lover” and is produced by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios and The Tannenbaum Company, among others. Eugenio Derbez not only plays the lead role, but is also an executive producer. Other producers include Ben Odell, Austin Winsberg, Sam Laybourne, Kim and Eric Tannenbaum and Jason Wang.

The cast includes Enrique Arrizon, Fernando Carsa, Rafael Cebrián, Vanessa Bauche, Carlos Corona, Chord Overstreet, and many more. Guest stars such as Jaime Camil, Damián Alcázar, and Cristo Fernández also return. New additions include Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Omar Chaparro. The series has been widely praised for its portrayal of Mexican culture, its warmth, and its authenticity. It has built a loyal fan base and is considered one of the most successful international productions on Apple TV+.
