Apple TV 2025 Rumors

Apple fans can be excited: After more than two years without any significant updates, a new Apple TV is set to hit the market in 2025. Improved hardware, faster performance and possibly even a more attractive price - all of these are aspects that are currently being discussed.

The current third-generation Apple TV 4K was released in October 2022. With the rapid development of streaming technologies and smart home devices, a hardware upgrade is long overdue. According to the latest reports from industry experts and analysts such as Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is already working on a successor model. Find out exactly what to expect and why the next Apple TV could be exciting here.

Improved chip: WiFi 6E for faster connectivity

A highlight of the new Apple TV could be the use of a modern WiFi 6E chip. This new standard allows faster speeds, less signal interference and a more reliable connection over the 6 GHz band - in combination with a compatible router, of course. For you, this means even smoother streaming and better performance for data-intensive applications such as 4K videos or online gaming.

Performance boost through new processor

Apple is known for regularly equipping its devices with powerful chips of the latest generation. The current Apple TV 4K uses the A15 Bionic chip, which was originally introduced with the iPhone 13 in 2021. Experts believe that the new Apple TV could use a processor from the A16 or even A17 series. This would ensure significantly faster loading times, optimized apps and an even smoother user experience.

Possible integration of a camera for video telephony

One of the most exciting rumors is the possible integration of a built-in camera into the Apple TV. With tvOS 17, Apple has already introduced the FaceTime app, which enables video calls via the rear camera of an iPhone or iPad on the TV. An integrated camera would make using FaceTime and other video conferencing services directly on the Apple TV much more convenient. You would no longer have to connect external devices - perfect for family evenings or business meetings from the sofa.

A cheaper price?

Price has always been a hotly debated topic when it comes to Apple products. However, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the next Apple TV could be cheaper. A starting price of under $100 is being discussed, which would make the device more attractive to many new users. For comparison: the current model costs between 169 and 189 euros in Germany - depending on the storage option. A price reduction would help Apple to compete more strongly against cheaper streaming alternatives such as Roku and Fire TV.

release date of the new Apple TV

Although the exact release date is not yet known, we can make assumptions based on previous models. Here is an overview of the releases so far:

  • Apple TV 4K (3rd generation): October 2022
  • Apple TV 4K (2nd generation): April 2021
  • Apple TV 4K (1st generation): September 2017
  • Apple TV HD: September 2015
  • Apple TV (3rd generation): March 2012

This means that Apple could probably announce the new device between spring and fall 2025. However, the exact time remains to be seen.

The upcoming Apple TV promises exciting upgrades: a modern WiFi 6E chip for faster connections, a more powerful processor, and possibly even a built-in camera for video calling.
