Apple released iOS 13.3 early last week, making some minor but important changes. However, one feature was left out: "AML," automatic location tracking.
"AML" stands for "Advanced Mobile Location," a feature that enables automatic location determination. This means that if a caller dials an AML-compatible emergency number, the Wi-Fi and satellite navigation on the respective device are immediately activated—regardless of whether the function was previously completely disabled. After approximately 20 seconds, the respective mobile phone automatically sends an SMS or data via HTTPS to the relevant emergency call center—the latter, of course, requires an active internet connection.
The function enables location determination to the nearest meter, which of course makes the whole thing particularly attractive. Since iOS 13.3, iPhone devices also support the feature. The function was not confirmed by Apple but by a control center in Lausitz via Twitter. You can find all the new features in iOS 13.3 in our Summary read it. (Photo by SasinP / Bigstockphoto)
