Developer shows iPhone X jailbreak under iOS 13.1.1

At the end of last week it was announced that there was a exploit that allows a jailbreak for all iPhone models from the 4S generation up to the iPhone X. Now there is the first video.

The developer and hacker axi0mX has now uploaded a video in which he shows an iPhone X booting under iOS 13.1.1 in so-called verbose mode - that is, in detailed mode. In order to trigger such a process, certain modifications are necessary that are not normally possible. The video is therefore intended to serve as proof of his discovery. According to the hacker, the jailbreak only took a few seconds - of course, the computing power of the iPhone X also plays a small role here. According to axi0mX, the exploit "checkm8" is "not patchable" - the reason for this is a gap in the hardware.

2011 – 2017 iPhones affected

But there is a small consolation – a malicious attack on foreign devices is not easily possible, as a wired connection to a PC is required.

Nevertheless, the video shows the reality - it is possible to crack all iPhones from 2011 to 2017 inclusive and Apple can't do anything about it. The jailbreak scene is of course happy. But it will be a while before the first public jailbreak is presented. (Image: Apple)
