iOS 14: More countries get Safari translation feature

Apple introduced a translator this year that is available as a standalone app on the iPhone and also as a built-in feature in Safari for iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and macOS Big Sur. Now Safari translation is set to be rolled out in more countries.

While the translator app is already available in this country, the Safari translation function was reserved for US users. Now reported The US blog 9to5mac reports that Apple is expanding the feature. According to reports, there are some users in Brazil and Germany who have access to it. Unfortunately, I cannot verify this myself, as I have not been able to find it on any of my devices - at least not yet. The function allows users to translate the language of websites that are opened in Apple's Safari browser.

Safari Translation supports eleven languages

The supported languages include Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. According to the report, both iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2 as well as macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 Release Candidate are to be taken into account. It seems that Apple can activate the feature remotely. Why the Safari translation function was not available from the start is still unknown. It is currently not known whether the feature will now be rolled out across the board in Brazil and Germany.
