Both the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max can be pre-ordered from Apple starting today – 2 p.m. The first hands-on videos have now been published on YouTube.

Starting today, the 5.4- and 6.7-inch devices of the iPhone 12 series can be pre-ordered. Delivery will start on November 13th. Videos have now been released that show the size difference quite well. expressed The Verge describes the mini model as follows:

It's honestly a little odd to hold at first, especially if you're moving from a big phone. Some things you have to do differently, like typing - but other parts of using an iPhone, like swiping down from the top of the screen for notifications or the Control Center, are easier than they've been in years. But for the first time since the iPhone 8, Apple has made a flagship phone that almost anyone can comfortably hold and use in one hand.

Regarding the iPhone 12 Pro Max, The Verge stated:

As for how the 12 Pro Max actually feels to use and hold, it's still a surfboard of a phone, just like Apple's other Plus and Max devices. Looking at it on its own is a bit deceptive, as it's relatively similar to the full-sized models. It's only when you see it in context next to another iPhone that you really realize the scale of the device.

iPhone 12 Pro Max does not appear “exceptionally large”

CNET provided additional details about the mini model and explained that it is a "return to the idea of packing the most features into the smallest package." The report states:

With a 5.4-inch screen and the same features as the regular iPhone 12, this 4.8-ounce phone could be just the thing for anyone with small hands, small pockets, or just wanting something less tablet-like. In my medium-sized hands, it felt incredibly small, which really just shows how used we've become to giant phones.

TechCrunch explainedthat the 6.7-inch high-end device does not seem that “extraordinarily large”, although it is definitely the largest iPhone in history.

All four sizes were present and accounted for. For someone who has tested a significant number of large Android devices over the past few months, the 6.7-inch Pro Max doesn't seem exceptionally large. However, as you can see in the photo above, the difference between it and the Mini is quite pronounced.

Detailed reviews of the devices are expected next week. This is just a short hands-on. If you are interested in one of the new iPhone 12 devices, you can find all the important specifications below.
