In today's connected world, our mobile devices make our lives a lot easier. If you have an iPhone and an iPad, you may have noticed that incoming calls come through to both devices at the same time. This handy feature allows you to answer calls on your iPad even when your iPhone isn't nearby. However, there may be situations where you want to disable this feature. In this article, you'll learn how to disable calls from iPhone to your iPad and Mac.

The iPhone and iPad are two of Apple's most popular products, appreciated for their seamless integration and ease of use. The ability to receive calls on multiple devices is an example of the thoughtful integration within the Apple ecosystem. However, not every user wants to use this feature all the time. Whether it's for privacy reasons or to minimize distractions, there are many good reasons to disable this feature. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

iPhone: Calls no longer received on the iPad

For some time now, calls from your iPhone have been automatically forwarded to your iPad if you are signed in to both devices with the same Apple ID. However, this feature can easily be deactivated.

  • Open the settings on your iPad: Tap the “gear icon”.
  • Navigate to Facetime: Scroll down in Settings and select “Facetime.”
  • Disable calls from iPhone: Find the “Calls from iPhone” option and disable it by tapping the green switch.

Disabling this option will stop calls from your iPhone from being forwarded to your iPad. This means that you will only be able to answer calls on your iPhone.

How to turn off iPhone calls on Mac

If you also don't want to receive calls on your Mac, you can also disable the function there:

  • To do this, in the FaceTime app, select FaceTime > Settings, click General, and then disable Calls from iPhone.

These steps will stop your Mac from ringing when someone calls your iPhone.

Make the most of your iPhone, iPad & Mac: Receive calls on the right device

The ability to receive calls on multiple devices simultaneously is convenient, but it can also be annoying. Fortunately, Apple offers easy ways to disable this feature. Using the steps above, you can ensure that you only receive calls where you really want them. Whether it's on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac—you're in control. By following these tips, you can configure your Apple devices exactly the way you want and use them without interruptions. Looking for new accessories? Discover our Amazon Storefront now !
