As expected, Apple introduced a new generation of Apple Watch in September - the Apple Watch Series 5. The most important innovation is the so-called "Always-On display". But not everyone wants to use the feature - we'll show you how to turn off "Always-On".
Apple has introduced the brand new Apple Watch Series 5 with an always-on display - the screen is permanently on. The display is dimmed until the user raises their arm or taps the screen. This is made possible by a particularly efficient energy-saving mode - while the time is displayed, the activated watch face is of course also visible. According to Apple, the battery should offer around 18 hours of battery life. Many Apple Watch users have long wanted this function - some even say "Finally, the Apple Watch feels like a real watch". But not everyone likes or needs the feature - that's why today we'll explain how to deactivate the "Always-On Display" function.
This is how Apple describes the Always-On Retina Display
The Apple Watch Series 5 comes with a new innovative display that keeps the time and important information always visible. Each watch face has been carefully optimized for the new display and economical battery consumption. The display intelligently reduces the brightness when the wrist is down and returns to full brightness when the hand is raised or the display is tapped.
How to disable the Always-On Display on your Apple Watch Series 5
Even though the feature is useful in many ways, not everyone wants it. Reasons for this could be notifications that not everyone should see, or the user wants to get more out of their battery life. In such cases, the function should be deactivated. To deactivate Always-On, you need to open the settings of your Apple Watch. Then navigate to the menu item "Display & Brightness". Now you can deactivate "Always-On" completely. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
