There have been a number of rumors over the past year suggesting that Apple is planning a new 15-inch MacBook Air to be sold alongside the current 13-inch model, and now there is new evidence that production could begin soon.

The reliable display analyst Ross Young has once again spoken out reported and claims that the display for this new MacBook Air will go into production in the first quarter of 2023. According to this, Apple could unveil the device sometime in the spring - possibly at a spring event. Both Young and Bloomberg have already reported on the possibility of a 15-inch MacBook Air. Bloomberg in particular has already pointed to a possible market launch in the spring of next year.

Larger MacBook Air could be released in spring 2023

Young's recent report that panel production will begin in the first quarter fits with a possible spring release date. Young's report today also reveals that the new MacBook Air will have a 15.5-inch display. This means that Apple will offer two MacBook Air sizes: 13.6-inch and 15.5-inch. Previously, the MacBook Air came in two different screen sizes, 11-inch and 13-inch. But Apple eventually simplified the lineup and eliminated the smaller variant. In addition to the MacBook Air with the larger screen, Bloomberg reported in June that Apple is also developing a 12-inch MacBook. However, this device is not scheduled to launch until late 2023 or early 2024. (Image: Apple)
