We've read a few rumors about the next iPad Pro generation over the last few months. Now there's a new report that suggests an update will be released this year.
In his “Power On” newsletter speculated Mark Gurman says that since Apple didn't unveil any new iPad Pros at its "Peek Performance" event this month, the new models are now expected between September and November of this year. In a previous report, Gurman said Apple is planning "the wildest lineup of new hardware products in its history" for fall 2022, and it's increasingly likely that this lineup of new releases will include updated iPad Pro models. Historically, Apple has updated the iPad Pro lineup every 13 to 16 months.
New iPad Pro with “M2” chip and MagSafe support?
Therefore, an update in the fall is not entirely out of the question. Gurman predicts that the iPad Pro could launch this year up to 19 months after the current model is released. This also means that the current 2021 iPad Pro could be one of the longest-lasting models ever. There have been few rumors about the next-generation iPad Pro in recent months. However, Gurman expects the new iPad Pro models to feature MagSafe charging and the "M2" chip. The M2 chip is expected to have the same 8-core CPU as the M1, but will be faster and more efficient thanks to TSMC's 4-nanometer process. It will also have additional GPU cores, namely 9- and 10-core GPUs instead of the 7- and 8-core GPUs of the M1 chip. (Photo by Colour59 / Bigstockphoto)
