Apple is planning to present a MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display diagonal in a completely new design - at least that's what various sources claim. Now more details about the new Apple notebook have emerged.
The rumor that Apple plans to introduce a new MacBook Pro with a 16-inch screen diagonal this year first appeared in February of this year. Since then, reports about the previously unknown device have been increasing. Now a picture has been published on the Chinese website Chongdiantou / weibo.com released that introduces the new charger of the MacBook Pro 16″ should show - according to the name, the adapter is a 96-watt USB-C power adapter. The photo actually shows the bottom of the power adapter. Although the image is quite blurry, you can see the inscription "96W USB-C Power Adapter" and "Designed by Apple in California - Assembled in China". Current MacBook Pro models are delivered with "smaller" power adapters - the MacBook Pro 13" comes with a 61-watt USB-C charger, while the MacBook Pro 15" comes with an 87-watt adapter.
Not the first adapter leak
It cannot be confirmed whether the photo is an original image - however, weibo.com has a good track record. For example, images of the iPhone 11 Pro's charging adapter were published in advance. A clue that could confirm the authenticity can be found directly from Apple. According to the company, the new Pro Display XDR should be able to charge devices with up to 96 watts via the Thunderbolt 3 port.
Incidentally, a stronger adapter would definitely make sense for such a powerful notebook. According to current information, the new MacBook Pro 16″ will have an edge-to-edge display and use a new keyboard technology – a presentation of the device could take place this month.
