Last week, proof of the existence of the MacBook Pro with 16-inch screen diagonal was found in the current macOS 10.15.1 beta foundThe device is now expected to be released by the end of October.
Will Apple hold a keynote in October or not? If so, the company must send out invitations today or tomorrow. There are no indications of another event, however - but there are indications of new products. According to a new report, DigiTimes claims to have learned from suppliers that the new MacBook Pro 16" is due to be released by the end of this month. However, the platform did not give an exact date. It also remains unclear how the product will be presented - whether at a keynote or via a press release. The latter would be more conceivable for a simple update. Since the MacBook Pro 16" is a new device, the presentation at an event seems more realistic. The new report from DigiTimes is based on statements from sources familiar with Quanta Computers. The Taiwanese manufacturer is said to have already started delivering the devices.
Will there be a keynote after all?
The statement also supports earlier reports from Bloomberg and the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, according to which Apple plans to present the device this autumn. The main problem is a missing keynote announcement so far. However, the professional notebook is not the only new product. In addition to the MacBook Pro 16″, the third generation of AirPods could also be released – at least that is what the China Economic Daily claims in a report from October 18th.
Whether Apple is planning a last-minute surprise remains to be seen. Notice: The DigiTimes' reporting should still be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism. The platform's track record has been declining in recent years when it comes to date announcements. (Photo by D_Zheleva / Bigstockphoto)
