Rumors say that Apple is planning a new MacBook Pro. The new top model is set to be presented this fall with a 16-inch display for the first time.
The topic of the 16-inch MacBook Pro is in the fast lane. Previously, iPhone rumors were number one, but now it is the alleged upcoming superlative professional notebook. A new report has now been published that predicts the market launch of a completely new MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display this autumn. The analysis provided by TrendForce states the following:
"According to the third quarter notebook shipment outlook, demand for Chromebooks remains strong thanks to the back-to-school period; at the same time, we see new products hitting the shelves, such as Apple's 16-inch MacBook, Dell's 16:10 aspect ratio products, Asus' dual-screen laptop, as well as various gaming laptops, which are increasingly in demand."
TrendForce does not provide any precise details about the products in the announcement, but the name should be sufficient. The company is at least the fifth source to claim that a 16-inch MacBook Pro will be introduced in the fall. There are hardly any differences in the details - only the timing of the introduction differs in the statements.
October – not September
While most sources say October is the release date, Digitimes believes it will be in September. We have already written about this in several reports, which is why we also think October is realistic. Apple has been introducing new iPhone and Apple Watch models in September for years (an Apple TV is also not out of the question) - new iPads and Mac devices are usually unveiled in October. Last year, Apple held the Mac and iPad event on October 30th - if Apple follows the old pattern, we will see the new professional notebook in this period at the latest.
