Both the new Mac desktop computer – Mac Studio – and the new Apple external display – Apple Studio Display – are finished and “ready to use”. At least that’s what a leaker is claiming.
In a new tweet explained Mark Gurman of Bloomberg said he had learned that a new desktop Mac model (Mac Studio) was "ready to launch" along with a new Apple monitor. Gurman expects both products to be unveiled at the "Peek Performance" event this evening. The new desktop Mac model, which has been referred to as the "Mac Studio" in various reports in recent days, is said to be between the size of the Mac Pro and the Mac mini. At the same time, it is more powerful than the previous Mac mini.
Mac Studio and Apple Studio Display
I've been told that the Mac Studio (smaller Mac Pro/more powerful Mac mini) and the new monitor that runs iOS are "ready to go" - so I believe they should arrive tomorrow.
An "Apple Studio Display" could also be presented at the event. Gurman assumes that the display will be equipped with an A-series chip for image processing, running a version of iOS developed specifically for this purpose. Although rumors of a new Apple display have been surfacing since the Pro Display XDR was introduced at WWDC in June 2019, there are no concrete indications of the development of such a display. So it remains to be seen whether Gurman will be right.
