Both the new Mac desktop computer – Mac Studio – and the new external Apple display – Apple Studio Display – are finished and "ready to use." At least, that's what one leaker claims.
In a new tweet explained Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says he's learned that a new desktop Mac model (the Mac Studio) is "ready to launch," along with a new Apple monitor. Gurman expects both products to be unveiled at tonight's "Peek Performance" event. The new desktop Mac model, which has been referred to as the "Mac Studio" in various reports in recent days, is expected to be between the size of the Mac Pro and the Mac mini. It will also be more powerful than the current Mac mini.
Mac Studio and Apple Studio Display
I've been told that the Mac Studio (smaller Mac Pro/more powerful Mac mini) and the new monitor that runs iOS are "ready to go" - so I think they should arrive tomorrow.
An "Apple Studio Display" could also be unveiled at the event. Gurman expects the display to be equipped with an A-series chip for image processing, running a version of iOS specifically developed for this purpose. Although rumors of a new Apple display have surfaced since the Pro Display XDR was unveiled at WWDC in June 2019, there has been no concrete evidence of such a display being developed. It remains to be seen whether Gurman will be right.
