A new leak provides, for the first time, a complete overview of all the colors the iPhone 17 will be available in. The information comes from an allegedly internal document that Filipe Espósito was able to view for Macworld. It contains not only the planned colors for the iPhone 17, but also for the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max models. The source lists specific color names and even Pantone color numbers. Some of these variants were previously shared by the leaker accounts Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson. The current report now provides clarity – with a total of 15 color options.
Color design at Apple is now more than just cosmetic. In recent years, the company has been using color to differentiate its model lines more clearly. The new information suggests that Apple will continue this strategy with the iPhone 17. In addition to tried-and-tested colors, there will be new tones, some of which are deliberately striking. These colors could be particularly recognizable on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
iPhone 17: six colors to choose from
The standard iPhone 17 model will be available in six different colors. Black and white remain the classic options, while four new colors are available:

According to reports, the steel gray variant is said to be reminiscent of the familiar space gray, albeit in a slightly cooler version. The green is likely to be more subtle. iPhone 17 Air: four colors with MacBook influences
According to the report, the iPhone 17 Air will be available in four colors, including two that are based on the MacBook Air's color palette. The light blue shade is said to be even brighter than the iPhone 17. The color variants are:

- Light blue
- light gold
Light gold, in particular, could visually appeal to a new target audience. The tone is likely reminiscent of a very pale rose gold, shimmering slightly in the light.
iPhone 17 Pro: for the first time in orange
The biggest surprise in terms of color options concerns the iPhone 17 Pro. In addition to classic shades, orange is introduced as a new variant. This color has never been seen on any iPhone before. A total of five colors are available:
- Black
- White
- Gray
- dark blue
- Orange
Dark blue is said to resemble the Blue Titanium finish of the iPhone 15 Pro, which was launched in 2023. Gray is likely a slightly darker alternative to the base model's steel gray. Orange clearly stands out and is likely to add a touch of color.
iPhone 17 Pro Max: same colors as the Pro model
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will have no color differences from the iPhone 17 Pro. This means:

This confirms the current trend that Apple is basing the Pro Max models closely on the smaller Pro model, both technically and visually.

According to Macworld , the source of the color palette is an internal Apple document. The information contained therein aligns with previous leaks from Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson. This means there are now three independent sources citing the same color options. Although final confirmation is still pending, there's a good chance Apple will unveil these exact colors in September.
