iPhone 13: But with always-on display?

Alanya, Turkey - April 7, 2021: Man hand with Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max Gold with app Activity Health on the screen.

Rumors about the iPhone 13 series are now documented daily, with most reports repeating themselves. Today it's about the possible always-on display, which Mark Gurman addresses in his "Power On" newsletter.

While Bloomberg last week reportedthat Apple has ordered suppliers to produce up to 90 million new iPhones for this fall, Gurman this time reiterates some rumors about upcoming features that we have already read several times.

I expect a faster A15 chip, a smaller notch, a new display for better battery life and the potential of an Apple Watch-like always-on mode, as well as a 120Hz refresh rate and upgrades to video recording.

A 120Hz display has been mentioned repeatedly in recent months. In combination with this, Apple could integrate the "Always-on Display" feature known from the Apple Watch.

iPhone 13: Battery life should improve again

Interestingly designated Gurman describes it as an "Apple Watch-like always-on mode." This means that the feature could be slightly different on the iPhone 13. If what Gurman is promising turns out to be true, users could simply access some information on the iPhone without having to activate it, such as the time, the weather, or even which app notified them. In addition to the always-on mode, Gurman once again claims that the notch will be smaller this year, the devices will get a faster chip and significantly better battery life compared to the iPhone 12 series. The latter will certainly appeal to many fans, as the 2020 lineup was a disappointment for some in this regard. Whether this will ultimately happen remains to be seen, however.
