Chiang Rai, Thailand: September 13, 2018 - Close-up image of Technician hands tried to remove, take of, change or replace Apple iPhone 6 battery degenerate or damage.

Recently, the rumors surrounding the iPhone 12 series have focused on the included accessories as well as the display technology But now official documents have surfaced that show new batteries. These could be intended for the iPhone 12 models.

Apparently, Apple has registered three new batteries in several databases, MySmartPrice reports. According to this, the certified products are supposed to fit the upcoming iPhone 12 models. The problem: They are smaller than their predecessors. Specifically, the new batteries were marked with the model numbers A2471, A2431 and A2466 and deposited with Safety Korea, China's 3C and the Danish agency UL Demko. As most of you know, four iPhone 12 devices are expected in three different sizes, including a 5.4-, two 6.1- and a 6.7-inch iPhone. According to MySmartPrice, the new batteries would fit the new models perfectly. For this reason, the platform has described the whole thing as follows broken down:

  • Apple iPhone 12 (5.4-inch) – A2471 – 2,227mAh
  • Apple iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775mAh
  • Apple iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775mAh
  • Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) – A2466 – 3,687mAh

iPhone 12 could be very energy efficient

Last year, Apple installed larger batteries in the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. Although they are better than their predecessors, they do of course make the devices a bit heavier. But according to many users, the battery life of the two iPhones is more than satisfactory. Here is the comparison 2018 & 2019:

  • iPhone 11 Pro – 3,046 mAh / iPhone XS – 2,658 mAh
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max – 3,969 mAh / iPhone XS Max – 3,174 mAh

The iPhone 11 Pro Max turned out to be a real battery monster. But let's get back to this year's lineup. If the batteries revealed are actually used, they will disappoint some users. However, it is not unlikely. After all, there have been reports of suppliers claiming that the battery protection module is significantly smaller than in previous generations. If previous rumors are true, the new devices will have higher energy requirements. Apple must have made some serious improvements to cope with these small batteries. In addition to the new batteries, the new 20-watt power supply has also been added to the 3C database, which was already announced a few weeks ago. leaked became. (Photo by Poravute Siriphiroon / Bigstockphoto)
