This week, rumors about new Apple products are piling up and there seems to be no end in sight. This time, there are new details about the 5G module in the iPhone 12.
According to a new report from the Nikkei news channel, Apple supplier Murata Manufacturing has managed to produce "ultra-small" capacitors that could create more space inside the new devices. The extremely important component is significantly smaller than previous capacitors and offers 10 times the electrical storage capacity. According to Nikkei, Murata Manufacturing will soon begin mass production. The new capacitors are one fifth the size of their predecessors - which measure an average of 0.25 mm x 0.125 mm. Murata was able to achieve this result by refining the ceramic powder - the base material.
The space gained in the device itself can therefore be used for valuable components. For example, a larger battery would be conceivable here, since 5G technology also requires more power than 4G.
