iPhone 11 & iPhone 11 Pro are said to be able to charge accessories after all

The two biggest innovations in the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 11 Pro series should be the camera and the bilateral wireless  Charging. But when Apple introduced the new devices, the new charging feature was not mentioned - but it is supposed to be there.

Bilateral wireless charging is supposed to allow users to charge accessories such as AirPods, Apple Watch or similar on the back of their iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max – this rumor was at least as persistent as the triple camera. The charging feature is even said to be the reason for the repositioning of the apple logo on the back of the new iPhone models - according to some rumors. But what happened? The night before the Apple Keynote Star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman spoke out on this topic. Both claim to have learned that Apple had problems developing the charging feature, which is why the function was scrapped.

Wireless PowerShare – present but disabled

But no one could say when this decision was made - so the assumption remained that the necessary hardware might still be there. Now a note has emerged claiming that all three iPhone 2019 models have the necessary module on the back, but that it has been deactivated in software.

Apple blogger Sonny Dickson published the information on Twitter - in the course of the message he cites "reliable sources". We will find out whether this is all true after the market launch at the latest - then there will be corresponding teardown reports. If the corresponding module is available, there is a chance that Apple will add the function at some point. (Image: Apple)
