iPad mini 5 leak: Are only minor changes to be expected?

It is becoming increasingly likely that an iPad mini 5 will be released this year. Rumors and leaks are increasingly appearing.

The iPad Mini was last updated in September 2015. Since then, there have been many rumors about the popular 7.9" tablet. According to the latest leak, however, only minimal changes to the design are indicated. A Twitter account has published several images of an unknown iPad Mini model. The biggest difference is the antenna area. It is unknown whether this is the finished model or a prototype. If this is already the final iPad mini 5, its design would be similar to the iPad Pro 2017. It would also come with a headphone jack and lightning port (see images below).

The usually well-informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted a new iPad Mini back in October last year – but he did not give a time frame for the market launch.

At the end of 2018, his statement was supported by another report. So far, only a few details are known about the upcoming 7.9″ iPad. In addition to an improved display, the processor will most likely also be revised. Nothing is known about the price either.
