iOS 18 Control Center

Alushta, Russia - November 6, 2018: Man hand holding iPhone X with home screen Control Center. iPhone 10 was created and developed by the Apple inc.

With the upcoming release of iOS 18, we can expect a significant update that will not only impress with expanded artificial intelligence capabilities but also with a redesign of the control center. Particularly interesting are the new features in the music widget and the HomeKit controls, which should significantly improve user-friendliness, as Mark Gurman of Bloomberg now reports.

Every year, Apple releases a major iOS update that improves the way we use our devices. With iOS 18, Apple is once again setting new standards by improving not only functionality but also design and user experience. A particular focus is on the Control Center, which has remained essentially unchanged since the iPhone X. It's time for an update that meets users' needs and makes use even more intuitive.

Revised music widget

One of the most exciting updates in iOS 18 concerns the Music widget in Control Center. Until now, the audio controls were displayed in a small 2x2 square in the top right of the screen. While this may be functional, many users wish for a larger interface that offers more information at a glance. With iOS 18, that wish may finally come true. The Music widget is expected to not only get larger, but also display additional elements such as album art and a progress bar by default. This would make accessing music controls much easier and improve the user experience.

Improved HomeKit controls

Controlling smart home devices via HomeKit has not always been intuitive. iOS 18 promises significant improvements, such as Gurman. Currently, the system automatically selects up to six accessories to display in the Home section of the Control Center. However, this layout is often not optimal and can change randomly, making it difficult to use. With iOS 18, Apple could allow you to manually select which accessories to display in the Control Center. A fixed layout in which the elements you want are always visible would make operation much easier. Larger tiles, similar to those in the Home app, could also help increase user-friendliness. These changes would make it easier for you to quickly and easily control frequently used smart home devices such as the living room lights or the thermostat.

Further improvements

In addition to the specific updates for the music widget and HomeKit controls the Settings app should also be revised. A cleaner interface, better organization, and significantly improved search should help you find what you're looking for faster. These improvements are also rolling out to macOS, creating a more consistent user experience across all Apple devices.

iOS 18: Control Center updates for a better user experience

iOS 18 brings many exciting new features that will significantly improve your iPhone experience. In particular, the revisions to the control center, such as the new music widget and the improved HomeKit controls, promise a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. With these updates, Apple is responding to the wishes and needs of users and setting new standards in terms of user experience. It remains to be seen how these changes will work in practice, but expectations are high. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
