Apple will introduce the next generation of software in summer 2022, including iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. Now there is a new report that addresses device support.
With the start of the new year, Apple will focus internally on the next major version, iOS 16. After Declarations According to iPhonesoft's sources, citing an internal employee, Apple plans to end support for the first-generation iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone SE. As for iPadOS 16, the iPad mini 4, iPad Air 2, iPad (fifth generation), and 2015 iPad Pro models will also be discontinued. I would like to stress that this is just a rumor.
iOS 16 could require A10 chip
As for iPhonesoft's reliability, the blog correctly reported the device matrix for iOS 13 and iOS 14 in advance. However, the platform was wrong about iOS 15 and the iPhone 6S series. So if iPhonesoft is right again this time, it would mean that iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 will require an A10 chip as a minimum to use the latest features.
