Rumors that Apple will introduce new over-ear headphones with an Apple logo this year have been circulating for months. But it won't stop there and there's a reason for that - the end of Beats.
YouTuber and Apple leaker Jon Prosser has revealed some details about Apple's future plans in recent days. Whether these will come to pass remains to be seen, of course. But now there's more information. According to his information, Apple is planning the new over-ear headphones (iOS 14 leak) at this year's WWDC 2020. These are expected to cost around 350 US dollars and will be on a par with the Studio Beats and Solo Beats. In addition to the new headphones, new plug-like AirPods are also expected to follow. Prosser expects these in September or October - costing 200 US dollars. This is said to be a version for athletes - similar to the Beats X. It is possible that DigiTimes This is the model they were referring to when they reported on the "AirPods Pro Lite." But the big surprise is that Apple reportedly wants to completely replace the Beats brand with AirPods. He explains in another Tweet:
Are AirPods the new Beats?
We've all been wondering why Apple wants to make more headphones when they already own Beats. Well, here's the answer.
The AirPods brand is more meaningful and valuable to Apple than Beats. They want to manufacture everything in-house and ship it with an Apple logo."
This process can't be implemented immediately, of course, but the foundation could be in place by the end of the year. It would also explain why Apple is planning new high-end over-ear headphones, even though Studio Beats and Beats Solo already exist. Whether Prosser's statement will actually prove correct remains to be seen. The whole thing could possibly take a "very long time." Want new headphones?
