ZENS Liberty: AirPower alternative now available for pre-order

The Dutch manufacturer ZENS recently introduced a new product - ZENS Liberty. This is a wireless charger that is a very good Apple AirPower alternative. The charging mat can now be pre-ordered.

Apple AirPower was the dream of many fans - the charging mat would have enabled wireless charging of iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch at the same time. The special thing about it would be the free choice of position. Unlike with conventional mats, AirPower users could have placed their device anywhere on the charging surface. But Apple ultimately had to abandon the project because it was not possible to implement it in this form. But now there is good news. The ZENS Liberty Wireless Charger is not only a good AirPower alternative, it also comes closest to Apple's idea. The charging mat from Holland allows users to charge two devices at the same time and does not have any fixed charging zones. Inside there are 16 charging coils with a total output of 30W - i.e. 2x 15W - which also allow fast charging for Apple and Samsung devices. The product description states:

The Zens Liberty series literally stands for freedom. The freedom to freely position your smartphones on this wireless charger. Thanks to the 16 integrated charging coils, you can conveniently position two smartphones anywhere on the charging station. Of course, you can also charge accessories such as the Apple Airpods Pro or Samsung Galaxy Buds with the charger. The output power of this induction charger is 30W (watts) divided into 2x 15W. Both Apple Fast Charge and Samsung Fast Charger are supported.

Apple Watch accessories optional

But that's not all. If you have an Apple Watch in addition to an iPhone and AirPods, you can optionally buy the appropriate stick for Apple's smartwatch. This is connected to the mat, so that the watch only needs to be placed on it to start the charging process. Alternatively, another USB device can also be charged via this port. Important: The stick is compatible with all current Apple Watch models. The ZENS Liberty charging mat itself has a USB-C connection and is powered by a 60W USB-C certified power supply. Power plugs for Europe, Great Britain and the USA are included.

The new Apple AirPower alternative is available in two high-quality versions – one of which stands out in particular. ZENS Liberty can be purchased with a textile or glass surface. While the textile version appears simple, the glass version attracts more attention - it reveals the inside and shows all 16 charging coils. The normal version of the ZENS Liberty costs around 139.90 euros. If you want the ZENS Liberty Glass Edition, you have to pay around 179.90 euros. The Apple Watch Stick costs another 39.99 euros. The product can now be purchased from ZENS on the homepage or alternatively from Amazon can be pre-ordered. Delivery starts on January 24, 2020. (Image: makezens)
