This year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will take place in Las Vegas from January 7th to 10th. LG has now announced the launch of new 8K TVs with HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support.
In a press release, LG confirmed the presentation of new 8K TV sets at CES 2020. The statement states:
The diverse 2020 lineup includes premium 88- and 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K TVs (88/77 OLED ZX models) and advanced LG NanoCell TVs (75/65 Nano99, 75/65 Nano97, 75/65 Nano95 models), with each model exceeding the Consumer Technology Association's (CTA) official new 8K Ultra HD definition. Independent labs such as TÜV Rheinland have confirmed that LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K and LG 8K NanoCell TV exceed this definition.
LG's new 2020 8K TVs are equipped with a new AI processor that takes advantage of deep learning to optimize picture and sound quality. This means the new TVs are able to recognize faces and text on the screen, fine-tune and sharpen for natural skin tones, and display better-defined facial features and clearer characters. It continues:
LG 8K TVs not only deliver Real 8K but are also future-proofed to give customers the confidence to enjoy the Real 8K experience in a variety of ways. The new models offer the ability to play native 8K content as they support the widest range of 8K content sources from HDMI and digital USB inputs, including codecs such as HEVC, VP9 and AV1, the latter supported by major streaming providers such as YouTube. LG 8K TVs support 8K content streaming at a fast 60FPS and are certified for 8K-60P over HDMI.
In addition, the new LG TV models support Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit and AirPlay 2. Accordingly, these can be controlled via Siri voice commands and stored in the Home app. (Photo by kobby_dagan / Bigstockphoto)
