WhatsApp: Future with Touch ID / FaceID?

Some people like to write and others prefer to dictate voice recordings. But even more people like to talk on the phone. Over two billion minutes a day - that's what WhatsApp writes in its blog.

WhatsApp was recently updated to version 2.18.100 for the new iPhone models. The iPhone Xs Max now displays more content due to its large display. Although the iPhone Xr has a lower pixel density, it will still display the same amount of information as the 6.5" OLED model.

Upcoming Features

The blog "Wabetainfo" regularly reports on current beta versions of WhatsApp. According to current information, a dark mode is being tested. However, in the final version, this could appear in dark gray instead of black. Changes are of course always possible. The blog also reports that in the current beta version, Touch ID or Face ID can be activated in the settings. However, the new security function is in an early alpha phase. So it will probably take some time before the feature appears in the final version.

Apple devices here aren't test units for a fortnight but everyday tools: from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and iMac through to the Apple Vision Pro, at least one device from nearly every product category is in daily use, many of them replaced annually. Every menu path in a guide is verified on the device before it goes live.
