Many WhatsApp users are eagerly waiting for an iPad version. But so far in vain. However, this could soon change. A new beta reveals multi-device support for the messenger.
In April last year, WhatsApp for iPad was officially leakedAt that time, the well-known blog WABetaInfo published images that gave a first impression. Now the messenger specialists are reporting on a new discovery in the code. According to this, WhatsApp seems to be preparing multi-device support. This means that users will soon be able to use their messenger profile on several devices at the same time, including an iPad. WABetaInfo:
Tablet support included
WhatsApp has been working on a new feature since last year that will allow the same WhatsApp account to be used on multiple devices at the same time. This means that the connection to the main device will not be interrupted if the user wants to log in on a different phone.
This feature will of course support tablets as well as smartphones, including the iPad. According to the report, the code is currently in Android Beta version 2.20.143 and is therefore not yet accessible to all testers. However, this is not unusual, as new functions usually land on Android first. In any case, the feature can be accessed in the WhatsApp settings. Here, the user can select whether they want to use their account on multiple devices. When the messenger will make the final version of this function available to all users is of course not known. But a launch could happen soon and that would mean nothing would stand in the way of an iPad version, or could it?! (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
