With watchOS 11, Apple has introduced exciting new features that make using the Apple Watch even more intuitive and convenient. The most important new features include the integration of live activities into the Smart Stack and the introduction of suggested widgets.

With each new version of watchOS, Apple has introduced innovative improvements that optimize the user experience. watchOS 11 focuses particularly on the expanded functions of the Smart Stack. The integration of live activities and intelligent widgets makes using the Apple Watch even smoother and more effective.

Live activities in the Smart Stack

One of the biggest new features in watchOS 11 is the integration of Live Activity into the Smart Stack. First introduced in iOS 16, this feature provides a dynamic, continuously updated display of important information right on your lock screen. With watchOS 11, this feature is extended to Apple Watch. A Live Activity that starts on your iPhone automatically appears at the top of your Apple Watch's Smart Stack, making it easy to keep an eye on important real-time information by simply raising your wrist. The design of the watch at the top of the Smart Stack also adapts to your current watch face, ensuring seamless integration.

Automatic opening of the Smart Stack

Another improvement is how you access the Smart Stack. In previous versions, you had to turn the Digital Crown to open the Smart Stack. With watchOS 11, the Smart Stack opens automatically when a live activity begins, making it easier to keep track of important information without having to take extra steps.

Interactive widgets

Another exciting feature in watchOS 11 is interactive widgets. Developers can now create widgets with toggles and switches that allow you to perform quick actions directly from the widget without having to open an app. For example, you can turn your smart lights on and off with a single widget.

Suggested widgets

Apple has also introduced "suggested widgets," which the system intelligently adds or removes from the Smart Stack based on relevance and context. For example, if rain is expected in 15 minutes, a precipitation widget will appear in your Smart Stack and disappear once the sky clears. Other examples of suggested widgets include the Shazam widget, which automatically appears when music is playing around you to help you identify the song.

Compact live activities

When a live activity starts while you're in another app, it'll appear in a special compact view at the bottom of the display. You can drag this view up to expand it to a full-screen widget, or tap it to go to the associated app or full-screen view.

Optimized use of the Apple Watch with watchOS 11

watchOS 11 brings numerous improvements that make using the Apple Watch even more powerful and user-friendly. From the seamless integration of Live Activities into the Smart Stack to intelligently suggested and interactive widgets, these updates are designed to improve your user experience and make your everyday life easier.
