Tomorrow, Apple will officially announce its third quarter 2019 figures – analysts are not expecting much.
The assessments of various analysts around the world all have one thing in common - they don't expect much from Apple. The majority assume that Cupertino will meet its own forecast and at the same time predict a significant drop in sales for the fourth quarter of 2019 compared to the previous year. Apple's forecast for the third quarter is for sales of around 52.5 - 54.5 billion US dollars - last year it was 53.3 billion US dollars. The general average estimate is 53.39 billion US dollars and is made up of 32 different forecasts. If the analysts are right, earnings per share will fall to around 2.18 US dollars. The trigger for the decline continues to be the iPhone - while it was previously a box office hit, the popular smartphone is slowly turning its name into a shelf warmer. A WOW effect is therefore not to be expected. As usual, Tim Cook will make an effort to highlight the figures positively and praise the service business – there may also be interesting hints or even mentions on topics such as upcoming services or the Apple Card.
Will the iPhone 11 reshuffle the cards?
One word – No. Due to a lack of innovations, the iPhone 11 is unlikely to be a sales hit. Furthermore, features that fans would like to see are missing – insofar as the rumors and leaks However, it is highly likely that this is the case, as these sources have already had an excellent hit rate in recent years. Many users are very satisfied with their iPhones of the X and XS generation - this has been shown by several surveys. A reluctance to buy is also motivated by recent rumors about the iPhone 2020 generation, which is why sales of the iPhone 11 are likely to suffer. Analysts even believe that Apple is about to hit a new record low in terms of iPhone sales - but the development remains exciting.
