Apple recently announced its fourth quarter results. Afterwards, Luca Maestri, CFO (Chief Financial Officer), dropped a hint about a new iPad Pro.
As part of the quarterly figures release, Apple's CFO Luca Maestri made an interesting comment regarding an iPad Pro update. This referred to a year-on-year comparison of the Christmas quarter. However, the statement contained an important clue. According to this, Maestri suggested an iPad Pro update in 2020 at the earliest. This is said to have already been decided by Apple's management. While rumors and solid notes to a 2019 update, Apple seems to have actually made a change of plans - this was already noted in an earlier report by the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, an update of the iPad Pro is expected in spring 2020. The fourth generation iPad Pro is generally expected to have a 3D camera with three lenses.
This technology is similar in principle to the infrared TrueDepth camera system that can be found on the front of the iPhone today and enables facial recognition. Using the time-of-flight (TOF) method, the sensor calculates the time it takes for light to reach a surface - it can therefore determine depth information and thus create more precise images. The WiFi+Cellular version is also said to have a 5G modem. Since Apple usually holds an event in March, a launch in early 2020 would be conceivable. (Photo by xMarshall / Bigstockphoto)
