The streaming service Spotify today announced in a community post an important change that has been requested for years.

Under the motto "Save, save, save..." Spotify has in a communityContribution announced that the library limit, which was previously set at 10,000, will be lifted. It states:

Spotify has started rolling out an unlimited library experience, meaning the limit on saved items in a user's library is removed!

The feature is currently being rolled out

This means that Spotify users will be able to add an unlimited number of songs or albums to their media library in the future. This means that the wish of many users has finally come true. But there is a catch. The limit for offline music or playlists remains unaffected by the change. In a short Q&A it says:

  • Can I save as many songs and albums as I want? – Yes
  • Does this affect the offline limit? – No! Spotify users can download 10,000 songs to 5 different devices and listen to them offline.
  • Can I add as many songs as I want to a playlist? – No! This does not affect the current limit of 10,000 items in a playlist.

Spotify points out that the change is currently being rolled out and is not yet available everywhere. However, this should change in the next few days. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
