Apple has officially announced that iOS 17.3 will be released next week. This software update brings a number of new features and improvements that will delight iPhone users. Below we'll take a closer look at the new features, including Stolen Device Protection, shared Apple Music playlists, and the stunning Unity Bloom lock screen wallpaper.

With each new iOS version, Apple brings fresh innovations and improvements to its users' devices. The announcement of iOS 17.3 is no exception, as it addresses some of users' most pressing concerns, including protection from stolen devices and the ability to share Apple Music playlists. In addition, the Unity Bloom wallpaper shows Apple's engagement for social justice and support for the black community.

protection against stolen devices

One of the most important new features in iOS 17.3 is Stolen Device Protection. This feature is designed to provide additional security for iPhone users, especially if their devices are stolen. In the past, there have been reports of thieves spying on an iPhone's passcode and then stealing the device. However, with this update, it will be much more difficult for thieves to access stolen devices. When you enable Stolen Device Protection, Face ID or Touch ID will be mandatory to access certain sensitive features, such as changing the Apple ID password, adding or removing trusted devices, and disabling Lost Mode. This extra layer of security will make life difficult for thieves and protect your personal information.

Shared Apple Music playlists

Apple Music subscribers can look forward to a new feature that makes listening to music even more social. The shared playlist option allows multiple people to add, reorder, and remove songs in a shared playlist. They can even leave animated emoji reactions next to songs to express their excitement or mood. This feature was originally supposed to be introduced with iOS 17.2, but was delayed and is now finally available with iOS 17.3.

Unity Bloom wallpaper

The Unity Bloom wallpaper is a visually stunning feature of iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3. It is designed to support the black community and make a strong statement for social justice. The wallpaper features an outline of flowers that fill with color when the display is activated.

These blooming flowers and bright colors symbolize Pan-Africanism and the common fight against injustice and systemic barriers. In addition to the Unity Bloom wallpaper, there is also a matching Black Unity Sport Band for Apple Watch and a Black Unity watch face that will be available with watchOS 10.3. These products will be released simultaneously with iOS 17.3 and underscore Apple's commitment to diversity and equity.

Conclusion

With the upcoming release of iOS 17.3, iPhone users can look forward to a host of exciting new features. Stolen Device Protection provides additional security against theft, shared Apple Music playlists enable a communal music experience, and the Unity Bloom wallpaper makes a strong statement for social justice. Apple once again shows its commitment to innovation and social responsibility. Make sure you update your iPhone to iOS 17.3 in time to benefit from these great new features.
