The latest developments in the field of IT security bring good news for Apple users. The company recently released revised Rapid Security Response (RSR) updates to fix an actively exploited security vulnerability and a bug in the Safari browser. With the aim of offering a quick and efficient solution, Apple has released the iOS and iPadOS 16.5.1 update as well as the macOS Ventura 13.4.1 update.
The Rapid Security Response Updates are designed to provide iOS and macOS users with security fixes without requiring extensive software update In this case, the current updates address a serious WebKit vulnerability, so updating immediately is strongly recommended. The iOS Security Response 16.5.1 (c) and macOS Ventura Security Response 13.4.1 (c) updates are available through the standard software update mechanism in Settings. Thanks to their efficiency, these rapid updates require only a few minutes to download and a reboot to install. Once the Rapid Security Response update is successfully installed, iOS 16.5.1 and macOS Ventura 13.4.1 users will notice an updated version of their software.
Protection against security vulnerabilities: Install Rapid Security Response Update now
By simply clicking on the version in the "About" section of Settings, you can get detailed information about the installed operating system version and the Rapid Security Response update. If desired, Rapid Security Response updates can be disabled on the iPhone, and there is also the option to turn them off on the Mac. However, last week, following the release of the Rapid Security Response updates, there was an issue with Safari. Some websites, such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Zoom, and others, displayed a warning after installing the software, stating that they were not supported by the Safari browser. To resolve this issue, Apple has temporarily withdrawn the RSRs and informed users how to remove the updates. The new (c) RSRs will no longer cause any issues with Safari.
