Apple has confirmed that it is working on a fix for the iPhone 15 overheating issue. This issue has led to numerous complaints following the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro. Below we will explain in more detail the reasons for overheating, the role of iOS 17 and third-party apps, and app examples.

The iPhone 15, one of Apple's latest flagship products, has attracted a lot of attention due to overheating issues. This problem has not only annoyed users but also caused a stir in the tech world. Apple has now commented on this problem and explainedto work on a solution. Below, we'll take a closer look at why some iPhone 15s are overheating and what steps Apple plans to take to fix this issue.

Overheating due to increased background activity

Apple has determined that some conditions may cause the iPhone 15 to get warmer than expected. This can occur especially in the first few days after setting up or restoring a device. The reason for this, according to Apple, is increased background activity. This includes re-downloading apps and content, and indexing files for Spotlight search.

Apple confirms software bug in iOS 17

Another reason for the overheating problem is a software bug in iOS 17. Apple has recognized this bug and plans to fix it with a software update. Unfortunately, it was not explained exactly what the bug was.

third-party apps

In addition to Apple's software, some third-party apps are also responsible for overheating. Apple works closely with the developers of such apps to develop patches and solve the problem. A prominent example is Instagram, which not only causes the iPhone to overheat but also puts a heavy strain on the battery. Tests have shown that using Instagram for up to 10 minutes at a time can lead to overheating.

Apple: Not only iPhone 15 affected

Interestingly, it is not only the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro that are affected by this problem. Some devices from the previous iPhone 14 generation also had similar heating issues, especially when using Instagram and after updating to iOS 17.

Examples of overloading apps

In addition to Instagram, other apps such as Uber and Asphalt 9 are also responsible for overloading the iPhone 15 Pro's CPU. Fortunately, an update was released for Instagram on September 27th that fixes the problem.

charging options

Apple has also provided information on charging power. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max support any USB-C adapter that complies with the USB-C standard, as well as USB Power Delivery. The maximum charging power is 27W, but this may cause the iPhone to heat up slightly while charging at more than 20W.

Apple's fight against overheating on the iPhone 15

Overall, Apple has admitted that there is an overheating issue on the iPhone 15 and is working to fix it. The reasons for overheating are varied, from increased background activity to software bugs and overloading third-party apps. However, users can hope for future software updates to solve this problem. In the meantime, those affected should make sure their apps are up to date and install updates if necessary to minimize overheating. While Apple has not given an exact time for the problem to be resolved, it is suspected that this could happen in iOS 17.1. Looking for new accessories?
