Apple recently released a new firmware update version 2.7 for the MagSafe Battery Pack. The update increases the charging speed, as Apple has now announced. Below I have summarized the details and show you how to update the accessory.

The MagSafe Battery Pack can charge your iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 faster with the new firmware version. In fact, it now offers 7.5W charging power on the go, whereas before the update it was only 5W.

To charge at 7.5W on the go, you'll need to update your MagSafe Battery Pack to the latest firmware. The firmware update will begin automatically after you connect your battery to your iPhone. The firmware update may take about a week.

Although a week is quite a long time for the update, there is a faster way to do it.

To update the firmware using a Mac or iPad, plug one end of a Lightning to USB cable into the Lightning port on your battery pack and the other end into your Mac or iPad. The firmware update takes about 5 minutes.

The MagSafe Battery Pack is compatible with the iPhone 12 and 13 models compatible. It was launched in July 2021 and hasn’t exactly been one of Apple’s most popular accessories. Apple MagSafe Battery – available on Amazon. (Photo by Unsplash / Kamil S)
