Apple has finally introduced the brand new MacBook Pro series. In addition to a new design and more performance, the new devices rely on a well-known component - the notch.
The rumors that MacBooks will have a notch only surfaced on Saturday – hardly anyone took them seriously. The reactions now are all the more brilliant. Incidentally, the rumors say that the MacBook Air, which is due to be released next year, will also have the same casing and display with a notch. So we should prepare for a "notch-filled" future. Be that as it may. However, the notch isn't supposed to be constantly visible – quite the opposite. For example, macOS is supposed to be able to make the notch more "invisible" in full-screen mode. So it won't stand out as much.
MacBook Pro 2021: What's behind the notch
According to Apple marketing images In full-screen mode, macOS places an artificial black frame at the top of the display, which essentially makes the notch invisible. If users decide against full-screen mode within apps, the notch will definitely remain visible.

How well the whole thing with the full-screen mode actually works in the end is something everyone has to decide for themselves. But why did Apple actually add the notch? The aim was to make the display edge as narrow as possible - the notch helped with that. The question of what is behind the notch can currently only be answered based on previous information. The notch is said to contain the FaceTime camera, a microphone and an ambient light sensor for True Tone. A teardown will tell us more, so stay tuned. (Image: Apple)
