Amazon started prioritizing various products in countries like Italy and Spain a few days ago. Now there are also delays in the delivery of certain items here.
If you shop a lot on Amazon, you've probably already discovered it. Some products now have the following message in the delivery time information section:
Longer delivery times: We are temporarily prioritizing delivery of items that our customers need most right now. This may result in longer than usual delivery times. Learn more.
According to this, Amazon has now also adjusted its own shipping policy in this country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But which products are now being prioritized? In a separate FAQ Amazon answers the question “Are there any impacts on delivery times” as follows:
To deliver to our customers while keeping our employees safe, we have adjusted our logistics, shipping, supply chain, purchasing and selling partner processes to prioritize the storage and delivery of items that are a higher priority for our customers, focusing on grocery, health and personal care products and items needed for working from home. This has resulted in some of our delivery times being longer than usual at the moment. Updated delivery times can be found on the product page of each item.
As shown in our example, a Nintendo Switch title, there is a delivery delay. On the whole, the decision is to be welcomed, as there are more important things in times like these. And yet, no one needs to hoard, stay healthy. (Photo by Tupungato / Bigstockphoto)
