In an update to iOS 16, due to be released later this year, Apple plans to introduce a new “Clean Energy Charging” option in the US.
In Apple's iOS 16 press release It is said that charging with clean energy optimizes charging times when the power grid uses clean energy sources. With "Clean Energy Charging," Apple aims to reduce the iPhone's carbon footprint. This is the first time we've heard of Clean Energy Charging. It's not a feature Apple has previously highlighted.
iOS 16: Some features will be added later
There are other features that are not available in iOS 16 and will be added in a later update, such as iCloud Photo Library, Live Activities and support for the Matter Smart Home standard.
