iOS 14.4: iPhones get new warning function

Apple released the second beta of iOS 14.4 and Co. yesterday. publishedNow a new warning function has been discovered.

The US blog MacRumors reported about a new warning function being integrated into the iOS 14.4 code. According to initial findings, this relates to the iPhone camera. In the future, the device will warn users if no original components were used in the camera area during a repair. The message reads:

It cannot be verified that this iPhone has a genuine Apple camera.

The same warning system is currently used for the display and the battery. It can therefore be assumed that the functionality will remain the same. This means that if a non-original camera component is installed, the whole thing will appear in the iOS settings under "General" in the "Info" section.

The whole thing could also appear as a pop-up message or as a notification on the lock screen. The warning system is used in current devices for the display and the battery. It remains to be seen what restrictions users will have to expect if they have the camera repaired with non-original parts. In the case of a third-party battery, for example, the display for the "maximum capacity" is deactivated. However, the device can still be used. In the camera area, it is conceivable that certain modes will no longer work - but that remains speculation for the time being. More precise details can be expected as soon as Apple provides an official support document. On offer: MagSafe Duo charger 18 percent cheaper (Photo by ADCstock / Bigstockphoto)
