Apple released iOS 12.5.1 on January 11th this year publishedNow the company has officially stopped signing iOS 12.5.

Apple released iOS 12.5 in December 2020, adding support for Encounter Notifications on older devices. Now Apple has officially stopped signing this version.

iOS 12.5.1: Apple also takes older devices into account

If Apple stops signing an iOS version, this means that users are no longer able to switch to the previous version via PC or Mac. With iOS 12.5.1, Apple has fixed a bug that displayed the logging profile of encounter notifications in the wrong language. Although iOS 12 was released over two years ago, Apple still offers security updates. This includes the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and 3, and iPod touch 6.   • Apple ProRAW photos can be taken with the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • Apple ProRAW photos can be edited in the Photos app
  • option to record video at 25 fps
  • Mirroring the front-facing camera for still photos on iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X

data protection

  • New Privacy Information section on App Store pages that includes a developer-reported summary of the app's privacy practices

TV application

  • A brand new Apple TV+ tab makes it easy to discover and watch Apple Original shows and movies
  • Advanced search so you can browse by categories such as genre and see recent searches and suggestions as you type
  • Top search results with the most relevant matches across movies, TV shows, cast, channels and sports

app clips

  • Support for launching application clips by scanning Apple-designed application clip codes via the camera or Control Center

Health

  • Ability to indicate pregnancy, breastfeeding or contraceptive use in cycle tracking in the Health app to better manage period and fertile window prediction

Weather

  • Air quality data is now available in Weather, Maps, and Siri for locations in mainland China
  • Weather and Siri provide air quality health advisories at certain air quality levels for the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, and Mexico
  • Air quality data in Weather, Maps and Siri reflect updated national scales for Germany and Mexico
