Instagram has just released an update for iPhone users to fix two particularly annoying issues: Stories without sound and layout issues on the iPhone 13.
Instagram users have been complaining about sound problems with stories for a few days - since the official launch of iOS 15, to be precise. In fact, the problem has been present since the first iOS 15 beta. To be precise, no sound was played when a story video was played while the iPhone's toggle switch was on mute. Even when trying to turn up the volume, no sound came out. Now the problem is supposed to be history with version 206.1.
Instagram update solves two problems
According to this, users should now be able to hear Instagram Stories with sound again, even if their iPhone is muted. But the update solves another problem. Anyone who has now started using their iPhone 13 and has been browsing Instagram will have noticed that the layout was shifted. Due to the new notch design, the top bar of the Instagram app was incorrectly located under the iOS status bar. Since I already have the update I can confirm that both problems have been resolved.
