In a post on Twitter, Instagram introduced a new feature for Stories that eliminates the need for a second app.
At the end of the year, Facebook's popular subsidiary Instagram introduced another feature that falls into the category of widely used Stories. Users will now be able to post up to six images as a collage in their Stories. Previously, the Instagram app "Layout" required this, but from now on, the whole process can be done directly via the "Layout" option in the main app. It's a feature that some have long requested and has now finally been integrated. The tweet reads:
Strike a pose. And another pose. And then another. With Layout, you can now capture and share multiple photos in your Story — a new, creative way to express yourself.
How to create a story with multiple images
Using the new "Layout" option is quite simple. Open the story camera in Instagram and then select the "Layout" option. This allows you to combine up to six images and publish them in one story. The feature is currently being rolled out worldwide – assuming the app version is 123.0. However, it may take a few days or weeks until every user has access to it.
