Last year, Apple launched a new program that gives independent workshops access to original parts, tools, instructions and much more. Now the project is to be expanded - including to Europe.

Apple today announced a new press release the expansion of the program for independent workshops launched in 2019 announced. Specifically, the "Independent Repair Provider Program" is about Apple granting independent workshops permission to repair iPhone devices outside of the warranty period. Cupertino wants to support this by providing original parts, repair manuals, diagnostic tools and more. The program therefore enables independent workshops to offer a service outside of the warranty period for iPhones - such as display and battery replacement. According to Apple, 140 independent repair companies have joined the program, which now covers more than 700 US locations:

Europe and Canada follow

The 140-plus new repair facilities participating in the program vary in size and include uBreakiFix, with locations across the U.S.

Following the successful launch in the USA, independent repair shops in 32 European countries and Canada can now apply for Apple’s Independent Repair Provider Program applyParticipation in this program is free of charge. There is also no charge for necessary training sessions. (Image: Apple)
