COVID-19: Apple publishes FAQ

At the end of last week, Apple announced the complete closure of all Apple Stores outside of China announcedThis has raised some questions, which are now answered in an FAQ.

Apple has closed all of its retail stores for two weeks. The company wants to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus. But the closure also raises questions. Accordingly, an FAQ has now been published that is intended to answer the eight most important questions, including the question of returning purchased products. Below you will find the full FAQ in full.

Q: My local Apple Store is closed. When will it reopen?

A: Out of concern for the safety of our customers and employees, Apple has closed all retail stores outside of Greater China until March 27. Please visit http://www.apple.com/retail about the current opening hours of the stores.

Q: I want to return a product I recently purchased, but the 14-day return period ends before March 28th - what should I do?

A: Don't worry, we will accept your return up to 14 days after reopening. *Exclusions: iPhones under contract (US, CA, JP, AU); Carrier financing (US only); Trade-in devices (device value can be declared as a gift card)

Q: My device is at an Apple Store for repair. When can I get it back?

A: We are working to complete all repairs. If your device is ready for pickup or awaiting parts, a team member will contact you with the details. If your device is ready for pickup, you can pick it up on March 15 or 16 between 12pm and 5pm. You can track the repair status at http://www.apple.com/support check.

Q: What is the status of my repair?

A: You can check the status of a repair online at http://support.apple.com/repair check.

Q: I need to get my device repaired. How can I do that when retail stores are closed?

A: You can start a repair online or contact support at http://www.apple.com/support contact us.

Q: I have an appointment scheduled at Genius Bar before March 27. Will you be open?

A: We will not be holding any Genius Bar appointments prior to reopening on March 28. You can reschedule your appointment and help yourself at http://www.apple.com/support.

Q: I placed an order for pickup at my local Apple Store. How do I pick it up?

A: Once you receive confirmation that your order is ready for pickup, you can go to the Apple Store between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on March 15 or 16 to pick up your order.

Q: I placed an order online and had it delivered to the Apple Store. Can I make changes?
