But what can we expect from the iPhone 13? Rumors so far suggest that the iPhone 13 will have a similar design to the iPhone 12, but with a smaller notch. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are expected to offer interesting camera improvements as well as ProMotion displays with 120Hz refresh rates. Additionally, according to various reports, larger batteries will be used.
Apple Watch Series 7
In addition to the iPhone 13, the Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to be unveiled. The new smartwatch is set to feature a completely new design. Rumor has it that it will have a flat design and be available in new sizes of 41mm and 45mm. Although health features are a key selling point for the Apple Watch, we don't expect any major updates in this area this year. Apple is said to be working on software updates for existing features, including blood oxygen measurement and irregular heart rhythm notifications. However, reports in late August threw a wrench into expectations.
AirPods 3
In addition to the above-mentioned devices, leakers say the new AirPods 3 will also be unveiled. The AirPods 3 are reportedly the best wireless earbuds Apple has ever developed. It has already been claimed that the charger of the AirPods 3 will have a 20% larger battery compared to the second generation. Wireless charging will be standard. We can also expect "noticeably better bass" compared to the previous generation. The batteries in the AirPods themselves will reportedly be the same size as those in the AirPods Pro.
iPad 9
But that's not all. Rumors suggest that the iPad 9 will come with a 10.2" display and an updated A-series chip. The device will have a Lightning port and will continue to use Touch ID in the home button. Like previous versions of this iPad series, this model will also be aimed at students and those looking for an inexpensive tablet. Apple's seventh and eighth generation iPad models were both presented at events in September. So it's not completely out of the question that Apple will unveil an update on Tuesday evening.
Milestone updates: iOS 15 and Co.
In addition to new hardware, we also expect Apple to announce the official release dates for the next software updates. We therefore assume that Apple will take another look at the new features of iOS 15 and watchOS 8 during the event and announce official release dates. macOS Monterey, on the other hand, will most likely not be released until October or November. What Apple will actually present in the end remains to be seen, however. There is more than enough speculation.
