A new entry from Apple in a Bluetooth organization database points to a Mac and could be the as yet unannounced 15-inch MacBook Air.
According to recent reports, a 15-inch—or 15.5-inch—MacBook Air is set to enter mass production. Separately, a new Mac has been added to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group database, of which Apple is a "promoter." It is neither specified that it is a Mac nor that the device will be equipped with Bluetooth 5.3. Until the device passes the Bluetooth qualification process, it reportedly will not appear in the database's publicly available search results.
Is Apple preparing to introduce a 15″ MacBook Air?
The entry submitted on February 18, 2023 (via MacRumors) does, however, point to a related "qualified design" related to macOS. This Bluetooth Launch Studio rarely seems to list specific Apple devices. A recent search shows only 10 results, the most recent of which follows this one and dates back to 2019. So, it's not necessarily as early a reference to a new MacBook Air as an entry in the EEC database could be. It certainly seems likely that Apple's entry refers to a new Mac. In this case, however, it could refer not only to the new MacBook Air but also to the current generation of the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which launched in January.
