One of the announcements made when the quarterly figures were released was that Apple would lower the prices of the new iPhones.
After the figures were released, Tim Cook spoke to Reuters about iPhone prices. He stated that Apple will lower prices outside the US due to currency fluctuations. According to Cook, current prices are too closely tied to the US dollar, so adjustments are being made in other countries. "When you look at foreign currencies, and especially the markets that have weakened over the last year, the price increases (for iPhone prices) have obviously been stronger," Cook told Reuters.
It remains to be seen in which countries the price reduction will take place; Apple has not yet provided any details on this. It also remains unknown how significant the reduction will be.
